At least 3 years of experience in food processing/butcher/meat cutter in a highly skilled, cold work environment. Completion of secondary school or completion of a program in industrial meat cutting/butchery preferred. Excellent hand-eye coordination and decision-making abilities. An ability to work in a physically demanding environment at times: standing for extended periods, cool environment, bending, crouching, kneeling and noisy. This can be repetitive work that requires manual. Experience with single function machines/tools and multi-functional process control machinery. Able to lift up to 27Kg (60lbs). Comfortable working with all meat products.
Key Responsibilities:
Cut, bone, trim beef, lamb, pork or veal for processing or packaging. Prepare cuts of meat to be ready for distribution or to move into the sausage making department. An ongoing commitment to safety and quality standards, ensuring that all products meet company standards.
Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment- ensure safe equipment handling:
guards in place, equipment is in good working condition.
Maintain and clean the cutting room including equipment to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines.
Work in a growing, fast paced, refrigerated environment.
